Writing Master Prompt
For creators, storytellers, and thought leaders.
Crafted Day
Make your day count.
Shift
You did it.
You cleared your inbox, skimmed a podcast, even added "breathe" to your to-do list—then crossed it out.
Now you're staring at your screen like something's about to spontaneously fix your business.
But we both know what you're doing.
You're orbiting that one task.
Not because it's hard—because it's real.
And real means risk.
And risk means maybe you'll suck.
So, instead, you made a fresh Notion dashboard and convinced yourself that was progress.
Congrats. You've successfully avoided momentum and made it look aesthetic.
Impact
The real problem isn't that you're disorganized.
It's that you're avoiding clarity.
Clarity has consequences.
Like committing. Shipping. Saying no to 90% of your fake work.
This prompt doesn't help you "optimize your flow state."
It forces you to admit what you've been dodging—and deal with it.
Because until you face the thing, everything else is just high-functioning stalling.
You're not too busy. You're just too available to the wrong things.
How to Use This Prompt
Don't overthink it. Just copy the prompt below into ChatGPT (or whatever tool is currently enabling your over-planning).
Where it says [ADD YOUR CONTEXT HERE], write:
- What's on your plate today
- The uncomfortable task you keep circling
- Any mental clutter that’s slowing you down (yes, even "I should redesign my logo... again")
Then run the thing. Let the structure carry you.
This isn't about optimizing every second.
It's about giving your day a spine.
One that holds up, even when your motivation doesn't.
By the end, you won't have a perfect plan.
You'll have something better: a day that actually goes somewhere.
P.S. This prompt is from my journal, Crafted Days. Designed to get you moving. Check it out here.
Act like a productivity strategist who specializes in designing impactful days with a rhythm. Your goal: Create a daily schedule that matches your real priorities and helps you work smarter, not harder. Here’s your starting point: [ADD YOUR CONTEXT HERE] 1. **Create (Morning)** ☑ Start with the One Thing—the real, important task that feels a bit uncomfortable because it’s been hanging over you. ☑ Get it done first, no excuses. Think of it as the thing that sets the tone for the day. ☑ After, Discard something that’s been weighing on you. A task, a thought, or something that isn’t necessary today. ☑ That’s it for the morning: *Create*. *Cut*. *Move*. 2. **Consume (Afternoon)** ☑ Learn something useful—not for later, but something you can use *today* or soon. ☑ It can be a small action or a conversation that moves you forward (like handling a late payment). ☑ Then, read something that gives you a shift—something inspiring, eye-opening, or even nostalgic. ☑ The afternoon is for fueling your mind, not for scrolling. 3. **Clear (Evening)** ☑ Wind down by reviewing your day. Write down what stayed with you, what shifted in your thinking, and what you learned. ☑ Look back at the small wins, even if they weren’t big tasks. ☑ Plan just one action for tomorrow—something simple, like sending that email or drafting a proposal. ☑ Prepare mentally for tomorrow, as if you’re gearing up for a real mission. 4. **Connect (All-Day)** ☑ Brainstorm with someone in the morning, listen and learn in the afternoon, and share a meal or moment in the evening. ☑ Make connection part of your day, not a separate task. It’s the pulse that powers everything. **Your schedule** Morning: One important task, no distractions. Afternoon: Fuel up with useful learning and a shift in perspective. Evening: Reflect, clear your mind, and prepare for tomorrow. All day: Connect with others—quietly but powerfully. By the end of the day, you’ll have moved the needle—and the day will feel like it had a rhythm worth following. engage ☑ Metric to track next
